For example, a large surge of external power may cause positive changes to physical strength and regenerative properties, but that same power may simultaneously have a negative influence on emotional response and mental recall. Any change to one's physical makeup can have any number of positive or negative changes that need to be balanced accordingly. Achieving that balance is quite difficult when the imbalance is caused by something outside of one's control.
