[It's fine, Dynamo keeps him informed about intrusions... at least Mizuki is the only person he's currently not trying to hide his latest project from.]
Good timing. The prototype should be ready for compatibility testing soon. I'll need a blood and tissue sample, if there are no issues we can move on to the next stage...
... Ah, but I'm getting ahead of myself. [closing out his array of holoscreens to actually look at Mizuki... he's not going to back out now, is he? this late into planning? He shouldn't dwell on his baseless paranoid thoughts, but...] Is there something wrong? Let's talk.
[ Mizuki can, at least, be somewhat happy that right now those marks are gone, because he doesn't want Add feeling that knife twisting feeling of guilt he feels. It's not enough to make him turn around and leave because, well, of course he's thought about this much. Of course he expects Add to take away the thing he wants more than anything in the world because of what he did.
But he sort of deserves that much, he thinks.
Mizuki shuffles nervously, repeatedly tapping the handle of his umbrella while he's silent, trying to think of the kindest way to approach this. ]
I made a mistake, Doctor Add. It… I know apologizing for it won't do much, but I'd feel miserable if I don't, so… [ A pause. Just? Spit it out. Rip off that band-aid. You have to. You can do this, Mizuki. Deep breaths. No matter what, it's going to sound awful, and beating around the bush will just make it worse… so… ] I kissed Elsword. …I'm sorry.
[I made a mistake... he can't hide the way his smile falters. Not just steeling himself for disappointment, scrapped plans, a misunderstanding he'd been so cautious of in the first place... but if Mizuki really does want to back out, there are too many loose ends left hanging. Can he talk his way out of this? Will he have to force Mizuki's cooperation? It's bad enough that Mizuki knows about the Overmind program at all, but he needs Mizuki to stay on board if he wants any success with—]
Elsword? [snapping out of his paranoid spiral and back into reality... ah, right. The kiss! Add breathes a sigh of relief, his Dynamos no longer sparking threateningly. Thank El it's just that and not... ugh, he doesn't even want to think about it anymore. Everything is fine! Relax! Smile!]
Hahaha, yes, yes, I already heard all about that. Of course a loyal pawn would want to report such an incident. I'd expect nothing less from you, Mizuki.
Elsword has been reprimanded for his behaviour. As for your apology... so long as there's no repeat incident, I see no reason to hold it against you. He's quite the catch, isn't he? I can't say I blame you for wanting a taste, kukukuku...
[ Wow. This is a lot to address. Firstly, Mizuki should be offended on his own behalf to be referred to as nothing more than a "pawn". Secondly, he should be offended on Elsword's behalf for being spoken about so flippantly. Thirdly, there's the fact that Add found out so soon after — Mizuki thought he hadn't given it a lot of time to settle, but… he's not focused on any of that. Or rather, he is, but not for the right reasons.
He forgives Mizuki so easily, which he didn't expect at all, but then, on top of that, to still so casually call him loyal… Mizuki feels a little light-headed. He nearly drops the umbrella and his posture gets just a little jelly-like. He doesn't quite melt — literally, anyway. Mentally, there's a lot of melting happening. Add is lucky he has the common sense and decency to not run and tackle Add into a hug. He so desperately wants to, though, so if Add feels a little claustrophobic, maybe by now he'll know it's because those camouflaged tentacles of Mizuki are hovering around him a little too close. ]
… Ah… I-I'm sorry you couldn't find out from me, then. [ He sounds a bit dazed, but he's doing his best to stay serious, professional — he had a script, damn it, he rehearsed this! Where did that all go?? ] He didn't do anything wrong, i-it was my fault. I can be a little impulsive sometimes, it's something I'd like to stop…
[Mizuki seems flustered... but as long as he doesn't start biting again, Add doesn't mind it. The tentacles are similarly brushed off—they're not doing anything, so it's fine, right?]
Upset? Hmm... no, I don't think so. [How to explain...? He folds his arms, leaning back until his chair is balanced on two legs. It's not like he's unbothered by people kissing his boyfriend, but it's more like...] Elsword is... a peak specimen. Physically, he's unrivaled. I'd consider his kind-hearted nature an endearing trait, and mentally he can be quite oblivious... but that's fine with me, since intellect is my area of mastery.
The impulse to obtain something desirable... that's simply a part of human nature. You'd be far from the first to display an interest in Elsword, but whether he's courted by you or someone else, it's Elsword's responsibility to remember where his loyalties lie.
Kukukuku... don't misunderstand. If you try that again, I'll be far less forgiving. But you already understand that Elsword is mine, so the mistake was a lapse in judgment rather than insubordination. Does that make sense?
[ The part of Mizuki's that's completely obsessed with psychology wants to poke holes in Add's logic, and wants to point out that this sounds very objectifying of him rather than considering him as his own person. That very same part of him also wants to point out he's pretty sure he knows way more about romance because he's played such otome hits like End up with my Sweetheart and You're Dead?! and I Want to Unify the Kingdom But My Lover is Too Misunderstood.
But that part of Mizuki is so incredibly small compared to the loyal part of him. He can ignore his psychology obsessed part because he's always had to adapt to those around him, anyway. But more than that, because he genuinely believes Add can't really say or do anything "wrong" at this point. That's his commander, so why would he ever think otherwise? ]
It makes sense.
[ And just like that, all anxiety and worry just melts away. He's his usual, smiley self, fixing his posture, and moving his tentacles so they're not lingering so close to Add. As much as he wants to go and hold his hand right now, he has to make a conscious effort to try to do better for Add. ]
Your generosity is as brilliant as you are, Doctor Add. It seems silly now that I was so worried you might not want to talk with me anymore... Ah, to that end, you had mentioned blood samples and such? I'm yours for whatever you might need, if that's the case.
[ He will absolutely scoot over without another word to sit up on whatever Add has in there as an operating table. He's used to having his blood drawn from Kal'tsit, so going through the motions comes fairly naturally at this point.
It's sort of funny, isn't it? That he had been so wracked with anxiety about how Add might react that he reached out to others for advice, and even gone through several "scripts" of what he needed to say, and yet this ended up going so smoothly, anyway. Perhaps he should just have implicit faith in Add? He's internally berating himself for not already doing so. He thought he had, truly, but perhaps now it's a little more concerningintense durable? ]
